Security and trust

Law firms send us their clients' documents. Here is plainly who we are, where those documents live, and who can see them.

Who we are

Folderwell is a product of Lawsync, LLC, a separate Texas company. It runs on the same software a California family law practice uses every day for its own client files.

Where your documents are kept

  • Hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) The application, its database and the documents on your pages run on AWS servers.
  • AWS AI services opted out Our AWS organization has the AWS opt-out for AI services applied, so AWS does not use our content to train or improve its AI services.
  • Anthropic: 30-day deletion Where the software uses Anthropic's Claude for an AI feature, Anthropic's published default applies: inputs and outputs are deleted after 30 days.

Who can see a page

  • Only the documents you add A page shows only the files you put on it. Nothing else in your account is ever shown.
  • Only people with the link Each page has its own long, unguessable link. For more protection, require a one-time code sent by email to an address on the page's list before the page opens.
  • Every view and download is logged The page's activity log records each view and download with its time and IP address. On Folderwell Pages Plus, the compliance report puts that record in one document.
  • You decide how long a link lives Set an expiration date on any link, or disable a page at any time. A disabled link stops working immediately, and you can turn it back on later.
  • PDF by default Word documents are shared as PDF unless you choose otherwise, so hidden metadata and tracked changes are not sent by accident.

Who can see your account

  • Support access only when you ask Only two named people at Lawsync, LLC can look inside a firm's account to help with a problem, and only when the firm asks them to.
