Privacy Policy
Last updated October 17, 2026
This policy explains what information Lawsync, LLC ("we", "us") collects through Folderwell and this website, how we use it, and who we share it with.
Firms and the people they share with
Law firms use Folderwell to share documents with, and collect documents from, their clients and others. The documents on a firm's pages belong to that firm, and the firm decides what goes on a page and who receives the link. If you opened a page someone sent you and have a question about the documents on it, please contact the firm that sent it.
What we collect
- Account details: your firm's name and the names, email addresses and phone numbers of the people who use the account.
- Billing details: payments are handled by Stripe. We keep a record of your plan and payments; we do not store card numbers.
- Content: the documents firms and visitors put on pages, the checklists firms create, and the email addresses on a page's notify list.
- Page activity: when a page is viewed or a document is downloaded or uploaded, we record the time and the visitor's IP address, and the email address a visitor gives to receive a page's code. Firms see this in the page's activity log.
- Technical information: cookies that keep you signed in and protect forms, and the server logs any website keeps. The sign-up page uses Google reCAPTCHA to stop automated sign-ups.
How we use it
- to run Folderwell: store and show pages, deliver uploads, and send the emails the service sends, such as codes, reminders and "new documents" notices;
- to bill for subscriptions;
- to answer support requests; and
- to keep the service secure and to prevent abuse.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use the documents on your pages for advertising.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the companies that help us run the service, and only as they need it:
- Amazon Web Services, which hosts the application, its database and documents;
- Stripe, which processes payments;
- our email delivery provider, which sends the service's emails;
- Google, for reCAPTCHA on the sign-up page; and
- Anthropic, only where a firm uses one of the software's AI features. Anthropic deletes those inputs and outputs after 30 days under its published default.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.
How long we keep it
We keep a firm's content for as long as its account is open; firms can remove documents and disable pages at any time. After an account ends, we may delete its content. We keep billing records as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete personal information we hold about you by emailing support@folderwell.com. If the information is on a firm's page, we will refer your request to that firm, because it controls that content.
Children
Folderwell is a service for businesses and is not directed to children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date above and tell customers by email or in the app.
